Technology Applications
The ability to characterize tissue based on its intrinsic biochemistry creates a new world of possibilities in healthcare. BLS’s technology was initially developed for and successfully tested in brain surgery; this was followed by a rapid and seamless extension into breast cancer, thereby confirming its utility both in-vivo and ex-vivo. The modality can potentially be employed to improve surgical outcomes in other solid tumors such as brain, head & neck, lung, prostrate, and cervix. In addition, it may be possible to utilize the system for screening purposes as well as in other novel applications.

Head & Neck
Reduces/Eliminates 90% 5-year recurrence fatality rate in oral cavity.

Brain
Reduces neurological complications following surgery

Prostate
Reduces the 20% repeat surgery rate

Breast
Reduces the 30% repeat surgery rate
Oncology
Screening
Other Novel
Applications

Colonoscopy
Enhances colonoscopy procedure for more accurate diagnosis

Cardiovascular
Identifies stable vs unstable atherosclerotic plaque

Skin Cancer
Decreases unnecessary biopsies through screening

Identifies specific strains of bacteria at the site

Orthopedic
Identifies ligaments or tissue during surgery
