Technology Applications

The ability to characterize tissue based on its intrinsic biochemistry creates a new world of possibilities in healthcare. BLS’s technology was initially developed for and successfully tested in brain surgery; this was followed by a rapid and seamless extension into breast cancer, thereby confirming its utility both in-vivo and ex-vivo. The modality can potentially be employed to improve surgical outcomes in other solid tumors such as brain, head & neck, lung, prostrate, and cervix. In addition, it may be possible to utilize the system for screening purposes as well as in other novel applications.

Head & Neck

Reduces/Eliminates 90% 5-year recurrence fatality rate in oral cavity.

Brain

Reduces neurological complications following surgery

Prostate

Reduces the 20% repeat surgery rate

Breast

Reduces the 30% repeat surgery rate

Oncology
